our muse is a brew named Stella - our might is genuine service sector rock.
There’s an old warehouse off the 880 that used to be a meat packing plant. Inside what used to be the frozen meat vault is where the Old Stock guys have been stomping out some songs that were recorded and released as the full length ‘PUSH’. All 3 guys have been kicked around the local music scene for years in various bands, but most recently they were part of the notorious Gearhead band ‘The Nads’. After losing their maestro Danny Nad to the dark side, Iain, Alex and Dave continued to write songs that still brought the same rock solid energy The Nads embodied, fused with more of a psych-pop sensibility. Old Stock like to bring it big – loud, raw and still leave the listener with something they can hum to themselves as they stumble home from the bar. There’s a complete disregard for genre while embracing the idea that if you deliver enough influences wrapped in a sonic standpoint, the result can sound familiar without being generic. In the same way that there are old stock photos and movies everyone can relate to, this is the kind of music influenced by the entire rock spectrum ancient and post-modern. Delivered with genuine energy and honest ambition; we do it because we love this shit. So crack open a cold brew and join us, wont you?
Sounds Like: Totally non-ironic, super saturated sincere proto-rock with a slap from the spirit of punk and an ass-grab from the epic stadium bands of another era.
